Two weeks to go to enter this year's awards

Businesses across the Illawarra were today reminded they have just two weeks left to get their nominations in for the 2006 Integral Energy Illawarra Business Awards.

Illawarra Business Chamber CEO, Mark Grimson said he was hopeful that a record number of businesses would enter this year�s Awards from across the five Illawarra Local Government Areas.

�Interest in this year�s Business Awards has been excellent so far, with around one hundred people in attendance at last month�s launch.�

In this year�s event, businesses will vie for a total of 18 awards with winners of the industry categories also having a chance to take out the prestigious Integral Energy Illawarra Business of the Year Award. The Awards Ceremony is to be held at the WIN Sports & Entertainment Centres in Wollongong on Friday, 17th November.

Entering is easy, simply provide an overview of your business and how it meets the criteria in no more than 5 pages. Judging will consist of the written entry, supported by a formal presentation for finalists and, in some instances, on-site inspections if required.

Another innovation this year will be the ability for an individual or business to nominate another business, it may be a client or a supplier, but we will be encouraging people to nominate a local business that demonstrates excellence in what they do.

Nominations close at 5:00pm Friday, 8th September, and winners will be announced at the Awards Gala Dinner on Friday, 17th November at the WIN Sports and Entertainment Centres.

Mr Grimson also reminded businesses that tickets for this year�s event are on sale with purchases made prior to 22nd September will receive a 10% discount. With over 400 tickets already sold, Mr Grimson urged businesses to get in quick to avoid disappointment.
