Terry Wetherall appointed to NSW Business Chamber Board

Illawarra Business Chamber President, Terry Wetherall was elected to the Board of the NSW Business Chamber at its AGM on Friday afternoon.

IBC CEO Mark Grimson said it was the first time anyone from the IBC had ever been elected to the Board of the State's peak Business Organisation.

Mr Grimson said Terry's election onto the Board was testimony to the high regard Terry is held not just locally but by leaders of business across the State, with the Board being elected by the NSW Business Chamber State Council which is made up of business leaders from each of the NSWBC's regional Councils from across NSW.

Terry has led this organisation as President for the past seven years, and during that time has made an enormous contribution to the growth and success of this organisation, particularly in terms of the credibility and stature in which the IBC is held today, Mr Grimson said.

In his role as President, Terry has been someone who has been prepared to take a leadership role on issues, to lead the debate on behalf of business, often when others in our community have not been prepared to do so.

Terry will be standing down from his role as President but remain on the Board of the IBC, with a new President to be decided at IBC's next Board Meeting following last weeks AGM, to be held on 19 December.
