Illawarra Business Chamber will celebrate its 10 year milestone of championing the growth and success of the Illawarra business community with an anniversary dinner on the 18th September 2008, at the City Beach Function Centre.

Guests will be entertained on the night by special guest speaker Mr Barry O’Farrell, NSW Leader of the Opposition.

IBC was created in 1998 through the merger of two long established business representative organisations, the Illawarra office of Australian Business Limited and the Wollongong Chamber of Commerce with a clear motivation to create a single peak business organisation with a vision to champion the development, capability & prosperity of the Illawarra.

The dinner will provide the opportunity for IBC to reflect on its proud record, acknowledging the progress that has been made in building the Illawarra business community but also with an eye to the future challenges that face Illawarra business development and the wider community in the coming years.

“IBC has had many achievements over the past decade and our 10th anniversary dinner will be an opportunity to celebrate our accomplishments in the Illawarra,” said Mark Grimson, CEO of Illawarra Business Chamber.

“IBC is proud to be the voice for the Illawarra business community with Government and to have contributed in achieving cuts to payroll tax, workers compensation premiums and red tape over the last 10 years which have made the lives of Illawarra business operators that little bit easier.

“IBC is excited that Barry O’Farrell will be our guest speaker on the night.  Attendees will gain an insight into the alternative Premier’s thoughts on the NSW economy in a time when we are experiencing increasing interest rates, inflationary pressures and growing uncertainty in the economy.
