The Illawarra Business Chamber today announced that Lindsay Tanner, the Federal Finance Minister will be a special guest at the 2008 Integral Energy Illawarra Business Awards.

Recognised as the pinnacle event on the Illawarra Business� calendar, Mr Tanner will witness firsthand how enterprises in this region are excelling despite these tougher economic times.

Chief Executive Officer of the Illawarra Business Chamber Mark Grimson said, �the IBC is extremely pleased that Lindsay Tanner will be joining us for the 2008 Integral Energy Illawarra Business Awards�.

�Mr Tanner will give guests an insight into the government�s standpoint on the current economic climate, and how the Federal Government is providing measures to address the hardships being faced in the region.�

�With 1000 guests expected to once again celebrate the successes of businesses in the Illawarra, the night promises to continue the tradition of being one of the most spectacular nights in the region�s social calendar, with the Integral Energy Illawarra Business Awards now being the largest awards night in regional Australia� Mr Grimson said.

�Businesses who entered will vie against each other in 19 Categories with industry categories also having the chance to take out the prestigious Integral Energy Illawarra Business of the Year Award�.
