IBC Celebrates Record Number of Entries for Integral Energy Illawarra Business Awards

The Illawarra Business Chamber (IBC) is celebrating, as a record number of businesses have entered submissions to the 2009 Integral Energy Illawarra Business Awards.

Over 100 businesses across the Illawarra have submitted in excess of 200 entries to this year's awards, which is the highest amount in its 16 year history.

IBC Chief Executive Officer, Greg Fisher, said he was thrilled that, in a year which has been difficult for business, the Illawarra business community has remained resilient and wants to celebrate their achievements.

Mr Fisher said "The business awards are a fantastic opportunity to showcase their successes to the business community"

"Businesses have commented that the new streamlined entry process has made entering simple"

"Additionally, the opportunity to reflect on their processes and operations within their business has been a valuable experience."

The judging process now begins, with judging of written entries beginning this week, followed by a formal interview process for finalists.

The close of entries is in line with a call to action for the business community to secure their tickets to the Gala Awards Ceremony, which will be held on Friday 13th November at the WIN Entertainment Centre.
