Andrew Corporation was named the 2009 Integral Energy Illawarra Business of the Year at the Integral Energy Illawarra Business Awards Gala Awards Dinner.

Over 1030 of the region's business people from across the Illawarra gathered to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the region's business community.

The WIN Entertainment Centre was transformed to provide a spectacular setting for what is now recognised as the largest celebration of business success and endeavour in regional Australia.

Greg Fisher, CEO of the Illawarra Business Chamber, paid tribute to all winners and finalists, and described the awards night as the best yet

Mr Fisher said: `Andrew Corporation is a worthy recipient of the 2009 Integral Energy Illawarra Business of the Year. Employing over 80 people in the Illawarra, Andrew Corporation has created the innovative product Geo-Lens, developed here in Wollongong'.

Andrew Corporation's emergency locator system has the capability to change the way all emergency services operate in the future. In addition to their fantastic product, Andrew Corporation also has a dynamic style of operation, & takes pride in their product, their staff and their procedures'.

"Whilst the focus of the night was on those who won their categories, the IBC would like to recognise each of the finalists and thank all businesses that took the time to enter and participate'. Mr Fisher said.

Mr Fisher also paid a special thank you to Professor Gerard Sutton for again leading the team of judges.
