IBC Launches 2009 Integral Energy Illawarra Business Awards

The Illawarra Business Chamber launched the 2009 Integral Energy Illawarra Business Awards, recognised as the pinnacle event on the Illawarra Business' calendar.

At this year's event, outstanding enterprises in the region will vie for a total of 19 awards which includes the newly introduced categories: Sustainability, Workplace Safety & OHS, Retail & Personal Services and Property & Finance.

The winners of each Industry Category will also have the chance to take out the prestigious Integral Energy Illawarra Business of the Year Award at a prestigious ceremony to be held at the WIN Entertainment Centre in Wollongong on Friday, 13th November.

Today's launch at the WIN Entertainment Centre was hosted by Greg Fisher, Chief Executive Officer of the Illawarra Business Chamber and Vince Graham, Chief Executive Officer of the Awards' naming rights sponsor Integral Energy.

Mr Fisher paid special tribute to Integral Energy for their ongoing commitment to the Awards, with this year's event marking 15 years of involvement.

"With 1000 guests expected to once again celebrate the successes of businesses in the Illawarra, the night promises to continue the tradition of being one of the most spectacular nights in the region's social calendar," Mr Fisher said.

Today's launch coincided with the call for entries open to organizations operating a business located in the Illawarra Region as defined by the five local government areas of Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama, Shoalhaven and Wingecarribee. Local businesses now have 8 weeks to lodge their entry with the closing date being Monday, 7th September 2009.

There will also be the ability for an individual or business to nominate another business, it may be a client or a supplier, but we will be encouraging people to nominate a local business that demonstrates excellence in what they do.

Mr Fisher paid special tribute to all sponsors for their continued support of the Awards in helping IBC make these Awards the largest in regional Australia.
